The crossrunner is a parts bin bike, it's been made cheaply ( hence it was about £1000 cheaper than the VFR800 when launched, I would have preferred the instrument panel from the VFR800 on the runner). No bike is perfect, they all have little foibles, you just have to learn to live with them.

PA & Brooklyn, NY. Map. I consistantly get 210-220 mile for 4.5 gallon fill-up.. on my 2000 VFR800. The worst I got was 170 mile for 4.6 gallon, best was 256 for 4.96 gallon. VFR800 has been one of the easiest bike when it comes to maintenance, the regular stuff like oil/filter change, chain lube are easily done.

The issue with the vacuum tubes usually causes the cap to not want to release so you can't put fuel in. Ultimately, leads to tank collapsing onwards under the pressure differential. 98 VFR800 - 130,000 miles, 08 VFR800 - 76,000 miles, 15 VFR800X - 44,000 miles (all sold) 14 VFR1200 - 24,000 miles. 18 VFR800X - 30,000 miles.
